Overview
The Wandering Willow is a neighborhood coffee shop and bookstore with a distinct personality — cozy, classic, and a little magical. This project called for a full brand and web overhaul that didn’t just look the part, but made visitors feel something the moment they landed on the page. Every element, from a fairytale-inspired typeface to fireside color tones, was chosen to evoke the warmth of a well-loved bookstore on a rainy afternoon.
Areas of Work
01
Developed a minimalist logo with playful structural details — refined enough to feel polished, but with whimsical touches that reflect the shop’s warm, story-driven identity.
02
Built a new warm color palette drawing from earthy tones, amber hues, and soft textures reminiscent of classic bookstores and cozy cabin interiors — designed to feel welcoming at every touchpoint.
03
Selected a primary typeface echoing the style of classic fairytale books, paired with supporting type choices that reinforce the whimsical, story-driven atmosphere throughout all brand materials.
04
Designed a full website aligned with the cozy, inviting theme — incorporating warm textures, subtle whimsical details, and a layout that guides visitors naturally through the brand’s atmosphere and offerings.
05
Created custom site graphics and textural elements that evoke the warmth of a fireside gathering — building an immersive visual environment that makes visitors feel the ambiance before they ever visit in person.
06
Ensured the brand identity translated cohesively across all online and offline applications — from the website to supporting brand materials — maintaining a unified visual experience at every interaction.
Mobile Design Process
Automatic responsive scaling wasn’t an option here. Using Elementor, the desktop and mobile experiences were each designed independently — same brand, same warmth, but each layout purpose-built for its platform. Mobile wasn’t an afterthought adapted from desktop; it was a deliberate, parallel design process ensuring the Wandering Willow experience holds up on any screen.
Featured Focus
Brand & Atmosphere
The goal was never just to make a nice-looking site. It was to make someone feel like they were already sitting in a window seat with a latte and a good book before they ever walked through the door.
